It has been aIMG_7034n incredible summer as I have worked at learning new ways to realize the fullWPC_BloggerPartner_logo_300d meaning of Live Your Best! Having left my nursing career due to Parkinson’s last December I have been experiencing how to refocus my energies as a Parkinson’s advocate, professional speaker, author, husband and dad. There have been a number of difficult days that have required significant effort to keep me on track. However, the summer months have been fabulous and I look forward to a rewarding fall.

View Photo: http://www.zoomphoto.ca/viewphoto/19767-110-27304390/1/A large component of the summer has been about figuring out how to remain consistent with physical activity. I had been very regular in cycling to work and running. Both of these have greatly decreased over the last number of month and my waist line testifies to their loss.

My bff, Sheryl, saw the need and thus registered us for the local Mud Hero. For which I thought she had lost her mind! However, we ran/walked it with friends and had a fabulous time. I neither fell from any heights or ingested too much mud. (The shear exhaustion of the following three days was another matter altogether….it’s my personal favourite PD symptom!)

I would love to hear your story of how you are living your best through physical activity. Take some time to share in the comments section how you are working to #UTurnPD in your life. Physical Activity remains one of the best medicines for most any ailment!

The video on the right is a little fun we had earlier in the summer that I thought I would share with you. Physical activity doesn’t have to be exotic to be beneficial. We just need to get out and go!

As we look toward the fall a number of important events begin to come into focus. First off is our annual Parkinson Superwalk throhomepage_logo_en13923ugh which we support our PD community in raising awareness and research funds for those living with Parkinson’s. Many of you have donated over the past number of years towards Tim’s Team and I would be honoured if you would join me once again this year in supporting this endeavour. You have an important event coming up and you have yet to book your Keynote Speaker. I have a grand idea for you; check out the video section of my website and then let’s talk.
